i was thrilled to hear that charlie hunnam had signed up to do sons of anarchy, and i could see him playing charlie broderick, a man who’s become so self-destructive from the inside that he is now willing to sacrifice his own life to stop jax going after that drug empire that samcro will either have to take over or be destroyed. the beauty of this is that youre not sure whether jax will be stopped, and so it plays with the audience on jax and sons of anarchy season six. i love that sort of playfulness — and i love that the creators are now sticking the screws into jax, turning up the pressure instead of releasing the tension.

despite the underlying theme of the show being that clay is dead, that doesn’t mean that he cant return, especially if he makes some sort of amends. it wont be the same as the last time he came back, though, as when he once again returned, he found himself the new captain of the club that he had been forced out of. so in the world of sons of anarchy, jax is essentially dead already, meaning that he may be back as a traitor to the club. whilst the other white hats have all worked together to take over, he has chosen to work alone. jax will need to work hard to get back into his brother’s graces, but it may be that there will be new people in the way of gemma. theres never been a better time to be jax, and it probably will be for a very long time.

otherwise, sons of anarchy season six looks to be a full on finale. gemma lays bare all the ugly things about jax, whilst clay has to deal with tig going after his club and his family. but then it’ll all be a quick and easy reset. theres been no spin-off this year, and now that charlie hunnam has been cast in avengers, i suspect that we willnt be seeing anyone else from sons of anarchy pop up on the big screen very soon. as you saw in this weeks episode, jax is holding all the cards, and gemma is the only one who has any control left.

we know that the spinoff is slated for 18 episodes and will not air on fox, but the network is currently shooting the two-hour season finales of the series. the cw has not picked up any further episodes.
this result was unexpected as the good place came in first in the previous time period. although it had the 12th-most u.s. viewers of all primetime series on tv in 2016, it got zero nods on the internet pirate sites. sons of anarchy was in the top five in terms of tv pirates for all time, and in fifth place in the streaming and torrent category.
jax and gemma have had a few words, apparently over alton being moved into the barn. gemma actually seems to genuinely want to work things out with jax, even suggesting they make a fresh start. then again, jax orders her to dump alton and bring his dog back to the clubhouse, which makes gemma start to feel trapped. even though jax still claims that he would never hurt a child, gemma feels increasingly threatened. whether jax is just manipulating her, or truly isnt capable of controlling himself is up for debate. what we do know is that the internal squabbling over clay has spilled over into the sangs. it will be interesting to see how all this plays out.
chibs continues with his campaign against the chinas, enforcing his alliance with clay. tig didnt like it when kells asked him to lie about his involvement in pattys death, and this isnt the first time tig has gone against chibs. over the course of the episode, tig begins to realise that he has crossed the line with kells. it might not come as a shock to anyone, but despite the fact that chibs and clay have been in a political alliance against the chinas for several episodes now, tig has really never trusted chibs.
