@zadi65 and I built this PPA, and it’s been working well for several months. It’s for Ubuntu 16.04, but any version of Ubuntu higher than or equal to 16.04 should be able to use it.
To install it, open a terminal (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal) and enter:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:hbruch/mastercam
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install mastercam
If you wish to install all available plugins and add-ons, you can enter the following code in a terminal:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:hbruch/mastercam-development && apt-get update

Many, many people report this as not working. I’ve confirmed it works for many people, and all the problems reported are not actually related to the PPA itself. It seems that there is a problem with the Ubuntu 16.04 repos today. Some people are reporting that it’s fixed and working again:
