Arnold (again) and the T-800 have a bit of a piss-up. They end up in the same bar and everyone including the T-800 looks great in period. It’s unclear what happens to John Connor and Kate Brewster after Judgment Day. However, when we see the T-800 again in Mexico in 2020 he has grown into a more menacing machine. Plus the episode of Cheers is taking place between the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (which is on in the future as well).

In 2027, tens of thousands of machines are on earth at all times after Judgment Day. One of them, a new terminator model, is called the T-1000. It has a human disguise and does not seem to kill humans. This is the version of the Terminator sent from the future by the human resistance to John Connor and Sarah Connor. But the Terminator tells that the T-1000 will kill the mother of his child. He is sent to 1999 just before John and Sarah. He is fooled for some time before killing the mother.

Yes, Terminator 2: Judgment Day represents the apogee of mainstream, Hollywood action science fiction. What makes the movie great in this sense is its sheer mass. The more I think about Terminator 2: Judgment Day, the more awe-struck I am by the astonishing creativity that went into making such a great film. The movie contains specific and pointed references to other action flicks, but its effects and all-around production design are extraordinary.
The rest of the movie is even more disturbing, as Marcus uses his technology to create T-800 soldiers that are more advanced, and even more malevolent, than the one that started it all. With the specter of Judgment Day still hanging in the air, Marcus makes it the mission of his new force to go back in time and prevent Judgment Day. He also decides that John Connor is an emotional weakness for the humans. Marcus sends John Connor to the past to recruit soldiers for his new army, along with his best friend, Kyle Reese. Kyle’s recall is affected when the T-1000 reveals to Marcus its origins and the thoughts it put into Kyle’s head. There may be a way to repair the damage–if there were a way for Marcus to repair the damage his technology has already inflicted on the past. But Marcus decides there will be no more such meddling with the past. The T-800 force is allowed to kill on its own, with no one to stop its rampage.
