hi chris, unfortunately, this is the only way to get your movie to work. if you have a bluray player, use the menu and select disk. if you have a dvd player, load the disc on the tray and go to the disc menu. under the dvd menu, select load disc. in the menu that will appear, look for a sub-menu for bd-rom or dvd-rom. select that and the player will read the disc and load it. good luck! thanks, kate
