the floalt has the exact same wire layout of the ikea bulb. again, the wire colors are pretty self-explanatory. if you are doing rgb, then a three-channel controller is required. you will need an ftdi to usb adapter cable to connect the serial adapter to the arduino or teensy. wire everything up and make sure the led dimmer wires work and that you can control the zel pin with a button on the remote.
so first, you must install the cpk development software. the files needed to do this are listed here, if you are working from linux or mac:

in the spirit of competition and hacking, we built our own “smart” light bulb. this is a hack of the ikea tradfri t5 light bulb. we use an arduino to emit pwm signals to the electroluminescent tube (elp) which emits a cool light effect. there is no interaction with the tradfri chip. furthermore, the board is composed of all parts from an old raspberry pi model b and we can solder it to an arduino shield, so it is very simple to build. a video of our hack can be found below.
the majority of the interfaces to circuit design are the same as i’ve already described in the nordic nrf51 page, and in the raspbian migration page, so i will not go over those interfaces. what i am going to cover in this post is how to compile code for the circuit prototyping kit (cpk) in the circuit design software nordik tradfri prototyping skil’s development branch. note: this is for the user working from read only access. you must have a license to develop the complete software version of the cpk, which i will describe below. also, you need to have a nordik tradfri prototyping skil development license, which i will describe at the end of the post.
