Heh, never thought I would say this.
It’s almost like reading or watching a legend of RPG fanfiction.
Game graphics:
For a fantasy action game, the graphics are pretty decent, and reminds me of a mix of the early PS2 fantasy RPGs, and the PS2 era Ys games. It doesn’t look bad, but it doesn’t look amazing either.
One of the main things I did notice while I was playing it was the absolutely atrocious loading screens. This game takes me at least 5-10 minutes to load up any level, and that’s when I actually do any grinding. It’s the sort of thing where you’re walking around looking at the beautiful art, then it pops up, loading screen, and you either have to wait a minute, or just pause the game.
Combat:
The main thing that comes to mind about combat in this game is how it’s really easy, but kind of bland. Both of these descriptions sort of contradict one another though, because they actually go hand in hand. It’s so easy that it’s not fun at all, and it’s so bland that it doesn’t add anything.
I’m not a big fan of the fact that there’s no combo feature, but that’s just my opinion. Personally I’d love a game where I could combo all sorts of things in and have it be more flashy, but that’s a personal desire.
There’s no point to item use. When you get the weapon you want, you just drop it off for that stat instead. I’m not a huge fan of this design either because items are so integral to most RPGs, but this game doesn’t force you to use them that much.
Anyway, I just think it’s a bit of a poor design.
Basically, the combat is so linear and easy that it feels like you’re getting none of the combat progression that a game like this usually offers. It’s fine though, because this is a game that doesn’t put that much importance on combat anyway.
Other than combat, the game is fairly standard, though. Enemies are mostly just weak and it’s the player’s job to go through them to get to the boss.
Besides combat, the other thing I don’t like is the lack of an overworld map. I hate this. There are a few times where the game just tells you to go this
