Elden Ring is absolutely amazing. It’s an RPG that has beautiful visuals, an action combat system that’s fun and tactical, a deep story, and some great humor. The gameplay is really developed and is fun as a whole. At a time in gaming when the genre is so stale, it was refreshing and inspiring to have a game that had plenty of depth and a meaningful story line. The gameplay is fun, the game is visually stunning, it’s a great read. If you are a fan of the fantasy genre, you will love this game.
Combat:
The combat of the game revolves around a turn-based system. Players will come out of their turns whenever they have been attacked, struck, or when they act. The combat system is tactical and fun, with multiple actions that can be taken, for each character, even for the objects. You can use over 50 different attacks, from ranged weapons and magic spells to physical attacks. The game provides a great visual presentation and I love the animations that are shown during the battles. It’s easy to see how the attacks play out. All of the characters that are considered important in the game have their own unique moves. For example, we have the sword master, the mounted knight, and the assassin. I have no issues with the system. Some of the characters have different attack orders and variations in the attacks. When I went back to familiar levels, I had no problems at all replaying them with a new order for their attacks. In the game, there are 3 different time attacks that you can use throughout the game, every time you get attacked, you can use one of these attacks. There are varied moves for each character, each of them different from another. For instance, the 3 different characters that are used in the game are the knight, the sword master, and the assassin. The knight has an attack where he gets off the horse and attacks the enemies, as well as being able to perform a spear attack. The sword master can attack using his sword, and the assassin can use the knife. While in combat with the enemies, the sword masters and assassins can be knocked off balance while the knights can always stay on top of their horses. The basic combat system is fun and tactical. Title says it all. The game is awful on a 23″ FHD display. Text is small, over crowded and the character size is greatly reduced. Playing the game with the monitor turned on the game screen is a disaster. If you have a macbook or macbook pro, avoid this game at all costs. It’s a rip off. They could at least make it work on the macbook.

This game is everything you’ve come to expect of a Baldur’s Gate type game, it has much more though. Beautiful detail, impossibly beautiful animations on characters, combat is great so far but needs a few more additions before the perfect balance is formed.

I was impressed with the different combat modes, and the dark atmosphere which makes the game play at night. The combat is a breath of fresh air because of the overheads included of dancing. I also really love the motion capture animations. They give the game so much more life and an atmosphere to them that it’s almost cinematic. As for the characters, every character has a backstory, or absence thereof, which makes them diverse. Each character has a job description, what they look like, and general backstory. The few gripes I have is not all classes have a clearly defined impact on the game, being stated as the elf drow wizard. The names are clunky (Paladins Academy?), and the dialogues are a little too blunt for my taste, but the narrator is adding to the atmosphere.

In a perfect game dungeon siege would be an interactive movie, but as we all know on mac OS X Lion that’s not possible with java. I am a huge fan of the bold 2D engine that the game is made on. The controls would be perfect if you didn’t have to press any buttons or anything you would find at rest in real life. Things like the D-pad or track ball on a laptop could be more preferably used to control movement. It’s annoying that you have to jump onto the map thing to move instead of just walking to it. A bit of a downside is the character’s couldn’t be rappelling and swimming…also there are lots of creatures that will run off

When I turn the computer on, windows is loading for about 2-3 minutes and then a screen appears saying “Windows is running in safe mode. Please restore windows to normal mode by selecting the appropriate menu from the list below and pressing enter”. I never did anything that would enable me to run in safe mode and I don’t know how to do this. I just don’t understand what to do.
