a. if you activate and register the license and then remove the license from the serial number and the license is re-registered and it is not registered with a serial number, you will need to re-activate the license to be able to generate a serial number. this is done by going to the license page at and clicking “license activation” (note that this is a new link). the option to register the license will not appear until you have clicked on the “license registration” button, which will enable you to register a serial number.

in addition to the above license tiers, we also offer licenses that are specifically for organizations that are transitioning from existing licenses. this transition license is only available for the anyconnect-t type platform. it is offered as a completely separate type (the l-ac-pls-lic=1 transition type) and it is offered at a 50% discount to the l-ac-pls-lic=1 consumer license.
the anyconnect license model offers great flexibility. for instance, if an organization has 100 anyconnect-t endpoints, then it could buy a license that gives them access to the basic consumer tier (l-ac-pls-lic=1) and then a license that gives them access to the l-ac-pls-lic=6 license tier. this would allow them to purchase a license that gives them access to the l-ac-pls-lic=6 tier at 50% off the cost of the l-ac-pls-lic=1 tier.
