But the road that leads to the palace is constantly threatened by attacks from evil cat people, raiders and other evil forces, so your task is to prepare the Road for the approaching battle and ensure the safety of our sisters as they flock to Gelendzhik Palace.

DEFEND THE ROAD TO GELENDZHIK PALACE AGAINST ATTACKS
Defend the road to the beautiful Gelendzhik Palace and prevent it from being attacked by enemies. You have machine guns and rocket launchers in your assortment, so collect them all for each level and place them wisely to make enemy units crash and die.
The road is surrounded by a forest of pine trees on both sides, so place mines, anti-aircraft and artillery cannons all over to eliminate incoming enemies before they reach the road.
SECURE THE ROAD FROM RAIDERS
When a large group of raiders appear from the forest, call in your helicopter gunship to eliminate them and rescue the women of Gelendzhik Palace.
Save the people! Protect the road! Kill the raiders!
REVERSE THE ARMY OF THE ENEMY

Thanks for the link. I’m looking forward to trying it, although I’ve been playing a lot of video games lately due to absence of an on-line gaming partner. Instead of playing against another human being, you play against a computer opponent. I seem to have a hard time doing that.

I can really feel how much better the sequel is than the original. The original was probably one of the first games to actually use common interface concepts, such as the “action bar”, and the “shelling buttons” are much more effective now. Every game has its own style; but the sequel has its own strengths. And I’m sure that also the graphics have improved a lot.

The game is designed to be a turn-based strategy game, but the game is actually a bit too easy at times. Unfortunately, the skill tree system of the original was just never balanced, so that isn’t really a problem in this version.

Both Etherlords titles look good, so the visual quality doesn’t really detract from the game in the least. In fact, it’s a big plus to me, since I’m a rather conservative guy. That and the beautiful music of the soundtrack, which complements the game well.

It looks like Etherlords II is the kind of game that can be played with a friend, and that’s a real pleasure.
