What is AutoCAD?
Autodesk AutoCAD is a commercial computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting software application. Developed and marketed by Autodesk, AutoCAD was first released in December 1982 as a desktop app running on microcomputers with internal graphics controllers. Before AutoCAD was introduced, most commercial CAD programs ran on mainframe computers or minicomputers, with each CAD operator (user) working at a separate graphics terminal. AutoCAD is also available as mobile and web apps.

Creating temporary file fails
I have a very weird problem.
I’m on Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS and I’m trying to create a temporary file for my Python project.
The strange thing is that I have no problem creating the temporary file when I run the script by hand, but when it runs as a program (through the terminal) it fails.
Here is a minimal example:

I get the following error:

(Note: dba_command.py is just a very simple little script that does a lot of things, but the error doesn’t occur on the lines that have the big code)
I can’t even reproduce it. I can create a file just fine on my system with the same version of python and I can create a temporary file and close it just fine. It’s just when I run it as a program it fails.
I am running this as a program with no other programs running or in the way. I tried a few times to run it as a background process (sudo nohup python dba_command.py > /dev/null 2>&1 &) and it still fails.
I have the other programs I’m using installed in the same way. I have no idea what’s going on. The problem has me stumped.
