AudioGate 4 Lite Version is a light-weight software version for KORG DS-DAC series or MR series that helps you easily play back various audio files, including high-resolution audio. It does not require a KORG DS-DAC series or MR series, although it is still recommended that you use a KORG DS-DAC series or MR series in conjunction with it.

You can import MIDI data generated from KORGs award-winning digital keyboard instrument, the PadKONKi, with its optional stand. AudioGate 4 includes the ability to create small, medium, and large KORGs PadKONKi virtual instrument parameter sets, as well as directly import KORG PadKONKi event data from KORGs DD-1 electronic drum, DA-20 electronic drum pad, and ZDP-2 electronic drum pedal into AudioGate so you can play along with your records. With these features, the ability to capture and play back data from KORGs products has never been easier.

A stereo-to-stereo DAC built into the DS-DAC series allows incredible sound quality playback and high-resolution recording. KORG AudioGate simply adds an additional user function to the KORG DS-DAC series, enabling your DS-DAC series to playback and record high-resolution audio for playback on your PC. You can easily create a recording in a desired format on the DS-DAC series and listen to your audio recordings in the high-resolution audio format (e.g., 5.6 MHz DSD, DSD or PCM). You can also store the playback position of each recording on the DS-DAC series so you can easily listen back to your favorite part.* This is possible because the DS-DAC series supports both the 24 bit/96 kHz and 24 bit/192 kHz WAV formats. Like AudioGate 4, AudioGate 2.3 is the logical successor to KORG’s popular AudioGate 4. With AudioGate 2.3, KORG has revised and updated the waveform display to further improve the user interface, made software improvements, and added numerous new functions. In addition, AudioGate 2.3 offers enhanced compatibility with DS-DAC, DS-DAC-10R, and MR series portable audio products, so you can enjoy digital audio playback with the same level of fun as using analog. *DSD playback via the lite version will be converted to 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz PCM for playback
KORG’s products are developed by world-class audio engineers with an exhaustive knowledge of digital audio. The design of the sample rate conversion filter built into AudioGate takes into account the tonal character heard via the final playback from the hardware, including the characteristics of the A/D and D/A converters themselves. For each combination of sampling rates, filter coefficients have been carefully designed with optimal values and have already earned a high degree of respect in the professional mastering workplace. In many cases, dither processing is an important factor in determining the quality of digital audio. In addition to the TPDF dithering commonly used to minimize distortion components, AudioGate also provides the proprietary KORG AQUA dithering algorithm developed by KORG to match the response characteristics of human hearing. The perceptual result far surpasses the theoretical S/N ratio based on the quantization bit depth, and has the potential to capture the spatial character of a high-quality master and preserve it even in the down-converted file.
