The Arcane Dark Caster class has always had a range of issues. Those of you who have taken on the Arcane Dark Caster, or have begun leveling it, know that it is a fun class. The rewards from killing Arcane Dark Caster enemies give a nice boost in leveling, and we have felt that it brought the overall play-experience into balance. We recently completed 4 months of content, including Beta and PTS builds. Over these 4 months, we have worked on a number of issues with our class, and hope that by releasing this new version, we can improve the class even more.

dark caster is the first spell caster class we’ve designed, and the first of its kind. dark caster really stepped up the quality of design and might actually turn out to be one of our most well-rounded classes. it’s got interesting realizations and trade-offs we’ve been practicing with classes for a while now, and some other ideas we’ve never used before. we’re extremely excited to showcase this class to you guys, and we can’t wait to hear what you all think. even we aren’t entirely sure what we’re talking about yet. there’s a lot in this class we’ve decided to toss aside, change, or rethink completely. it’s an extremely different approach to spell casting, and one we’re really proud of.

envelop in darkness rank needed: 1 mana cost: 16 mana cooldown: 2 seconds type: magical range: an infinite range attack that deals damage to 1 target. description: you gather the darkness within and unleash it in a quick flurry of black arcane energy. applies consumed by shadows which deals damage over time stacking up to 20 times and lasting 10 seconds. the duration is refreshed when restacked.
to go along with the launch of the new arcane dark caster class, we also made a new cannon mega bundle called the dark knight bundle. this bundle includes the dark knight cannon and the arcane dark caster class for 899 acs, and is available only through the item shop.
oh, and as a reminder, the arcane dark caster class will be availalbe tomorrow, february 1st at 7am cst. to complete your quest, you will need to buy a 1000 ac token from the npc merge shop. this item can be purchased for 1000 acs, and will be purchasable through any of the merge shop npcs. once you do that, you will be given the arcane dark caster class.
our first set of buffs involve our passive. as many of you may or may not know, arcane dark casters are able to hit targets from behind the enemy. we have decided to buff this passive so that it will be more effective, and to that end we have increased the damage of the passive to 30% on targets behind the caster.
the second set of buffs involve the class itself. we are changing the ability to summon a dark sphere. when this ability is used, you will be able to summon a dark sphere for a duration of 3 seconds. the damage for the dark sphere has been buffed and now will do 120% damage on targets it contacts.
