I just started playing this game, based on Bayonetta. I found myself as frustrated as hell with the coin hording puzzle. There is nothing hard about it, right? You just slide one tile from one square to another. I feel like the difficulty is totally misleading and at least after finishing a few games, I understand and am able to open doors behind enemies by figuring out where it moves the coin from.
However, as I mentioned, the coin hording puzzles are the devil. I found it so incredibly frustrating that I wasn’t able to open one simple door. I only went to level 32 so I’m not playing a game that is too hard, but I want people to know that when it comes to the coin hording puzzle, it sucks.
The expansion pack sucks if you ask me. The question is actually why they kept the coin hording puzzle in the first place? I’ve asked my friends and the different opinions were like “yeah, I would buy that”. I should have saved the money, trusted in games and bought the greatest game ever on the market.
I like this game a lot, but the puzzles are SO hard, it makes me wonder if they were keeping the puzzles in because they were too hard for new players and you have to work the clock (it’s random, and you don’t know if you’re going to unlock the way until it reveals it) to make the right moves. When that clock starts, it can take a solid 10-15 minutes. That’s just ridiculous. I’m playing with a hard-to-set time limit on, and I can’t get my average time below about 3:45.
As for expansion pack 1, I’m not really sure why it came out. It’s completely optional and adds no real gameplay mechanic. So I’m not sure why it was included as it’s not even being developed anymore.
I had the same experience you did with level 498. I spent about 15 minutes with my best friend and it was unsuccessful. It’s literally like playing puzzle solitaire and there is nothing challenging about it. It’s just a mindless pinch and slide/rotate game. Gaping open and it takes 10 minutes to complete.
To me puzzle games should be puzzles and not just mindless micro-management. I know it’s a series, but they only took what made Bayonetta entertaining and expanded on it. Don’t feel
