Epoch’s Journey is a hybrid game between an action-adventure and a fantasy RPG. The game has been built with a 2D perspective, allowing for a certain level of accessibility for players from different backgrounds. The 2D perspective has also allowed us to create a unique game experience with close-to-maximal immediacy. Having said that, we also believe in a certain 3D-perspective and are building a next-gen version of the game, made in the Unreal Engine, which will fully exploit the capabilities of the future next-gen hardware.

Epochs journey has a classic, retro feel to it. The plot is set in 1920s, and therefore the game has an amazing color palette to work with. From classic American cars to a steamboat, the levels are wonderfully designed with great attention to detail and impressive visual quality. However, the game is not only a visual experience – the gameplay and control system is also quite unique. Epoch’s Journey is a semi-roguelike, which is one of its most unique characteristics. You walk around in a 3D environment, but to progress you have to go through numerous low-level steps where you have to fight enemy rogues and solve puzzles. You will have to use your brain as well as your body to progress in the game.
About The Game’s Mechanics
The movement system is more suitable for gamepad. Epoch’s Journey is controlled with a Gamepad, so you will not have any issues with its movement.
Tactics:
The combat system allows you to swing a weapon in 3 directions, while hacking will allow you to perform up to 3 special moves.
Actions:
You can move as fast as you want by pressing forward. You can also aim and shoot your weapon by pressing the fire button. Enemy shots can be dodged by pressing the dodge button. You have three energy bars and when they’re empty you’ll fall unconscious. When you’re down you have to wait a bit before you can move

- This is my first APS studio game, so please bear with me.
- All credit goes to the amazing Yggdrasil Games, who made the original and have been amazing to work with from start to finish on this, well my second attempt.
