this is where hestia comes to the rescue. hestia can read the.torrent file and download the complete file as a compressed.zip file. this allows to keep the http download only for those small parts of the ddl where it has to download more files than is sensible. in this case those files can stay on the web server. in order to create the complete.zip file hestia will then zip the.zip file with the missing bits and use a typical http download link.
while this was successful initially, the server could not handle too much traffic and would go down. currently the method is somehow not as reliable as you would like it, due to http checksums which can fail and thus cause the download to fail. we are looking forward to see improvements that could be made. as always if you have any comments or suggestions please let us know!
