its no secret that flashing a custom firmware file via edl makes the phone boot into edl mode. so, the next step is to flash a firmware file into edl mode via the qpst tool. but before you do that, make sure you have a copy of the stock recovery and the stock firmware files that came with your device. the stock firmware files usually contain a recovery file and are located in the /boot folder. for example, here is the recovery files for my nexus 6p:
so, for my nexus 6p, i have the stock recovery and stock firmware in a zip file called nexus-6p-stock-firmware.zip. the reason i use that zip file is because i am using realme, and as you know, realme only provides ozip packages (recovery-flashable) and ofp packages (fastboot-flashable via realme flash tool). for this reason, i have to use the android-x86 tool to flash the.zip file into a memory card to boot the phone into edl mode.
here is what the process looks like on my phone. first, i start the qpst tool by navigating to tools > flash tool > qpst. if you have the stock recovery files in the same folder as the stock firmware files, you can just double-click on the stock firmware zip file to load it into qpst. if you dont have the recovery files, you can copy and paste the recovery file into the same folder as the stock firmware files.
after that, i navigate to tools > flash tool > qpst and click the flash button. when the process is completed, i can then reboot the phone to edl mode. once in edl mode, i can then proceed to the next step to flash a firmware package to get the phone to boot again.
