I’ve played around with the F@H Monitor, briefly, and I must say that I’ve found this gadget to be quite interesting and quite useful.
I must say that F@H Monitor is entirely focused on the F@H project, but it’s not limited to the purpose of being an F@H widget, or even an F@H monitor, for that matter. If you also feel like it, then you can even use F@H Monitor to monitor your Xbox Live profile, the resources that you’re consumed by music players, or pretty much anything else you can think of that consumes computing resources.
The F@H Monitor is quite straightforward, but the widget itself does have its own unique set of quirks, which will come in handy at some point. Just try it out, and you’ll see for yourself.

Run F@H Monitor and click the CPU and GPU buttons to view your complete CPU and GPU usage. The application shows the number of tasks currently running, and their associated CPU and GPU consumption (in points). Click the History button to see the CPU and GPU usage of the last 24 hours.
Tuning the minimum CPU and GPU usage (in points):
Use the options menu to set the minimum CPU and GPU usage in points. Currently, the minimum usage is 10 CPU points and 40 GPU points.
Folding@home Accelerated Build:
F@H Monitor can be used to view the progress of a VLC accelerated build. After starting the accelerated build, click the CPU and GPU buttons to view the number of tasks currently running, and their associated CPU and GPU consumption (in points).
Note: You will need to download the acceleration stubs after clicking the GPU button as there is no acceleration of GPU builds yet in F@H Monitor.

It might seem strange that some programming books, which seem like pretty good ideas, wouldn’t be supported by the default installation of the Visual Studio IDE. This issue has been documented by Microsoft, but there is no solution as of this writing.
Just installing the latest Visual Studio version won’t solve the issue. A workaround is either of the following:

Manually replace the existing installed program, i.e., Openscript, with the more recent version (2.2)
Create a custom installation package of the existing version (2.2) and restore to the client system via the registry.

I chose option #2 and created a MsiPatch package that can be used with PowerUp (not the recommended package, it should be installed as a separate executable).
The assumption is that either of the above workarounds can be applied to other Openscript software not supported by the current version.
